Recently the Jersey Evening Post has been featuring articles about care of the elderly in Residential Homes.

In this recent one, our Manager Isabel speaks about the joys and challenges of a career in the sector, and the invaluable experience that young individuals gain while engaged during work placements within a Home such as Glanville.

Success in the RJA&HS Garden Competition

Glanville recently entered the 2025 RJA&HS Garden Competition and were delighted this year to have been awarded 99 points, and first place, in Class 21 – Gardens attached to a Residential or Care Home. We are therefore again the winner of the Grainger Cup.

The vegetable garden was also awarded the excellent score of 99 points, as well as our resident Jean again receiving a certificate for the flower area which she tends so carefully.

The main garden is always a beautiful place in which to spend time, but visitors are not always aware that Hilario also cultivates the two vegetable gardens around the house, which provide an incredible and varied selection of produce, that is used in the kitchen to ensure that our ladies always have meals which are totally fresh.
